Aria Awards.

Miss the Aria awards last night? Luckily Polyester has the fashion and awards here for you in a nutshell.

The Fashion:

Ricki-Lee wore a bright pink dressy Thakeon.

Jess Mauboy (nominated for two awards) wore a stunning dress by Alex Perry.

DJ for the night Ruby Rose opted for this extravagant dress from Romance was Born.

Sarah De Bono colour blocked her hair with a yellow dress by Rachel Gilbert.

Kimbra looked as fabulous as ever a piece by Sydney designer Anna Langdon.

Gossling went simplistic in white.

Sarah Blasko went for an all black look.

Missy Higgins looked great in this patterned dress.

Now for the awards:

Gotye expectedly took out the most awards for the night, winning all four categories he was nominated for. Including: Best Pop Release, Best Live Act, Best Male Artist and Album of the Year. His genuine support of other Australian artists was the most notable aspect of his speeches, encouraging the audience to seek out Australia's underground scene artists. Also giving a shout out to The Beards in his Best Male Artist speech, "Thank-you to The Beards for reminding us what all male artists should aspire to."

Hilltop Hoods took out Best Urban Album.

360 was nominated for five awards, however only managed to take out Breakthrough Artist.

Jeff Lang beat contenders Angus Stone, Lanie Lane and Mia Dyson in Best Blues and Roots Album.

The fantastic Kimbra took one of her two nominations, winning Best Female Artist, notably tripping whilst running from backstage to accept her award.

The Jezabels were nominated for four awards and won Best Independent Release.

Matt Corby was nominated for three awards, yet only managed to take out Sing of the Year. Which seems highly appropriate, with majority of his fans only knowing the winning song, Brother.

Arias natural Missy Higgins was nominated for three awards, however only won Best Adult Contemporary Album. She looked generally happy for those who took out awards that she was nominated for and managed not to get trashed and jump on presenters like at previous Arias.
Way to go Missy!

And that's a wrap.

Rachel xx
