Tropfest 2013.

Do you aspire to make fucking awesome short films? Have you got a great idea that, say a heap of Australian film insiders would love? If your answer is yes, or you just love watching short films then you'll be glad to know that Tropfest 2013 is drawing closer.

The film festival that is not just about showing films, but making them has revealed the Tropfest Signature Item for 2013 (an item that has to be included in each entry to qualify) and as you probably guessed, it's a balloon.

So in just three short months all you have to do is create a film specifically for Tropfest, that's no longer than 7 minutes, that features a balloon. Easy, hey! And you can end up like last years winner Alethea Jones, whose hilarious film Lemonade Stand took out Movie Extra Tropfest 2012. Alethea has since had her short film, Dave's Dead, World Premier at the Sydney Film Festival. Plus been nominated for Best Film and Best Director for Dendy Award Nominations.
