2nd ACCTA Awards Luncheon


Today saw the the 2nd ACCTA Awards Luncheon take place at Sydney's Star Event Centre, where the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts announced the first group of winners.
The event, hosted by Adam Elliot, had many winners but The Sapphires dominated the Feature Film section taking out 5 of the 6 Awards on offer.

Tess Schofield, Melinda Doring and Warwick Thornton.
Australian producer Al Clark was presented the ACCTA Raymond Longford Award. Clark has produced 19 feature films including Chopper and The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Video tributes to Clark were shown throughout the luncheon, admiring him as a mentor and educator as well as a producer. Tributes came from many including Guy Pearce and Deborra-Lee Furness.

ACCTA Award for Best Cinematography
The Sapphires. Warwick Thornton

ACCTA Award for Best Editing
The Sapphires. Danny Cooper ASE.

ACCTA Award for Best Sound
The Sapphires. Andrew Plain, Bry Jones, Pete Smith, Ben Osmo, John Simpson.

ACCTA Award for Best Original Music Score
Not Suitable for Children. Matteo Zingales, Jono Ma.

ACCTA Award for Best Production Design
The Sapphires. Melinda Doring.

ACCTA Award for Best Costume Design
The Sapphores. Tess Schofoeld.

Miranda Tapsell
With The Sapphires taking out majority of the Feature Film Awards Not Suitable for Children was left with one award and Lore didn't manage to take out any.

Strom Surfers 3D. Ellenor Cox, Marcus Gillezeau.

ACCTA Award for Best Short Fiction Film

ACCTA Award for Best Screenplay in a Short Film
Transmission. Zak Hilditch.

Brooke Satchwell
The Awards Ceremony for the 2nd ACCTA Awards Season will be broadcast on Wednesday 30th January on Network Ten at 9:30pm.
