With the horrendous heat this week (I most definitely am a Winter person!) I thought it would be nice to have a look back at a Summer 12/13 trend.
Bright colours were
all over the catwalks this season, however I did notice that yellows and gold
were hugely prominent.
Whether it was Alice
and Olivia’s yellow pantsuit, Diane Von Furstenburg’s unmissable gold features
or Louis Vuitton’s fun yellow dresses, yellow and gold made its mark.
Vera Wang definitely
took the prize for statement gold pieces for me. The colouring and texturing of
her outfits are just so alluring.
Yellow and gold are
such statement colours that they can be tricky to wear, especially all over.
Working small amounts
into an outfit can be fun too though, such as a yellow hat or contrasted with a
darker colour.
If you have fair skin
like myself here are my two tips for you when wearing yellow:
1.
Be careful not to choose a yellow that will make
you look washed out. But…
Do not over do the fake tan. You don’t want to
look yellow and orange all over! (actually don’t over do the fake tan at any
time)
